Dr. Thanh Nguyen DSOM, L.Ac
Doctor of Science in Oriental Medicine
Dr. Thanh Nguyen, L.Ac, completed her Doctor of Science in Oriental Medicine degree at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, took her board exams and received her license to practice in Arizona. She was trained in acupuncture and Chinese herbs along with other Chinese/East Asian modalities such as cupping, guasha, tuina, nutrition, etc. With the love for classical Chinese modalities, Thanh wrote her doctoral thesis on Bloodletting Therapy, a subject that is often misunderstood and feared by many, offering explanations on how it was utilized classically and across cultures.
Thanh believes that the body has its own wisdom that is often overlooked, leading her to create Prajna Acupuncture, “Prajna” meaning “wisdom”, with the goal of combining the wisdom of medicine together with the wisdom of the body to treat and empower her patients on their healing journey.
As a practitioner, Thanh is passionate about helping her patients and her goal is to treat every individual who comes into her office with compassion and respect so that everyone is heard and seen. Thanh will continue to study and reinforce her knowledge and skills in order to give her patients the best care possible, and to provide patients with the information they need in order to lead a healthy and balanced life.
